You are the Animorphs. After being in the wrong place at the wrong time, you have acquired the power to morph any animal you can touch. Despite being rad 90s teens when you started this journey, you have been forced to be the planet’s last line of defense against the invading Yeerks -- an alien race that burrows around a creature’s brain and takes them over. Your mission: save humanity from Yeerks, stay undetected, and defeat the Yeerk leader Visser Three.
What happens next is up to you, the Animorphs, and your GM, your War-Prince.

Child + Soldier is a hack of John Harper's 'Lasers & Feelings' and based on the book series Animorphs by K.A. Applegate. Mechanics are also inspired by Grant Howitt's 'Honey Heist'.

Literally just finished a session of this at Con-Vergence, this is an AMAZING take on the Lasers and Feelings style system! I especially loved the number shifting mechanic, fits the feeling of playing a teen trying to still figure out what kind of person they are vs. the needs of The Mission (tm).
Anyhow shout out to Jackson for running this and enabling me to play a nervous wreck of an eggy trans girl and somehow fitting an INCREDIBLY well done emotional moment involving her created-on-the-spot mom for that. Solid game!!!!
